the cactus channel and saskwatch – tonight at bar open

I first saw The Cactus Channel and Saskwatch play at Yuki’s Japan Disaster Benefit Gig at the Espy, and totally dig them…

Youthful enthusiasm and some sweet, sweet sounds – live at Northside Records

The powerful grooves of Saskwatch cannot be denied!

See you at Bar Open tonight, where all this deep soul funk action is yours FREE! Doors 10 pm.

i heart tarako

We used some of these awesome Tarako commercials in the VJ set last night (along with old monster movies, anime, Soul Train and so much more!). Went down a treat! If you weren’t at the Japan Benefit Gig last night at the Esplanade Hotel, you missed so much soul/funk awesomeness…

This one was a little too, I don’t know, classical/baroque for the gig…so it didn’t make the cut. Still damn fine though…

noodling about

Theres’ still a little sofa-shifting going on in my little corner of the blogosphere. This morning I worked on my bio page a bit, and have scribbled down a largeish list of topics for future posts. It amazes me that so many people have sauntered by since December. If you’d like to read a bit more about moi, click yours truly on the header.

I’m not the sort who would post under an alias, or create some cooler-than-cool persona to hide behind. This really is me, although it is nice to be able to edit before hitting the publish button. Blogging about what’s happening in my neighbourhood is as close as you’ll ever get to seeing me sporting an I Heart Northcote tee down the pub, and a little less naff to boot. Maybe…

The sun is coming in through the venetians, luring me outside. Back with more soon. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, go check out the Postcard Show at Linden – always worth a look, especially as Miss Crumpet is one of the exhibitors…
