Sad times in Westgarth Village – The Movie Reel will be closing in April. This treasure trove of film has been open since 1988, and has done sterling work to satisfy my arthouse, cult and kung fu cravings. Thanks Robert, Ben and all the other staff – you are awesome, and will definitely be missed! Look out for their huge DVD sale, which starts on March 17.

cinerarium relocates to the wilde bar in fitzroy

Cinerarium is moving from 303 – and Northcote! 2015 screenings will be happening The Wilde Bar in Fitzroy. The 86 tram stops right out the front, so it’s still easy to get to. To attend screenings this year you need to have a membership, which can be yours for just $15. Get on it!

He also recorded local ska, beat, rocksteady and reggae musicians, and co-founded Island Records.
