Vale Joe Cocker…
Vale Sound Engineer Graeme Goodall AKA Mr Goody. Arriving in Kingston in the 50s, he helped set up studios as well as Jamaica’s first commercial radio station RJR. He also recorded local ska, beat, rocksteady and reggae musicians, and co-founded Island Records. His numerous studio credits include the Skatalites, Toots & the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley and the Wailers. Here are some of my fave tracks he engineered – Millie Small’s My Boy Lollipop and Desmond Dekker’s Israelites…
