sue bottomley : reverie @ 69 smith st gallery

I visited Sue Bottomley’s exhibition in its last days and really enjoyed her work. ‘Reverie’ is a collection of 7 portraits, using acrylic on vintage wallpaper. Sadly, the gallery space was VERY sunlit when I was there – not ideal conditions for viewing works under glass. A dreamlike, introspective show, I found the combination of materials and ideas very well balanced and intriguing. Great to see subjects of all ages being potrayed, the works featuring older women were absolutely stunning! ‘Reverie’ was at 69 Smith St Gallery from 6-24 November.
