goodbye cafe najla, hello base camp…

Base Camp Base Camp will soon be serving Himalayan and Birmingham Balti cusine at 102 High St in Westgarth Village, AKA Cafe Najla’s old premises. I miss their delicious Middle Eastern food, but can’t wait to see what the new tenants do with the space…

Tried Base Camp tonight, it was great! Transported straight back to fabulous uk nights. Had palak pakoda, salty, green parcels with a creamy chutney, kakori kebab, peshwari naan, gorgeous soft & tasty lamb (Rajasthani Laal maans), and creamy veg curry (mushroom matar). With a small rice it kept three of us very happily full for $50. Fantastic food – next time I’m trying the baigan aur mirchi ka salaan. Yes, I liked it so much I’ve got the takeaway menu. Would be great to hear what you think when you try it 🙂
