a cut stitch : maja baska and jenna tapia @ off the kerb

Old toys from op-shops have had many experiences. Love, abandonment, you name it…Perhaps this is why seeing them en masse is both charming and creepy. Maja Baska and Jenna Tapia have used photography, animation and installation to remind us that the unwanted can and should be re-appropriated. Think flamboyant, vaguely military couture, but with a lingering sense of unease. Their collab show “A Cut Stitch” is at Off The Kerb Gallery until 9 May.
