rainbow yarnbomb

This sweet yarnbomb is on Lt Lonsdale St, Melbourne. Quite close to Thousand Pound Bend, a favourite haunt of guerilla knitters.

While you’re there, check out the knitted window bars, and some sweet street art on the facade.

About Vetti

I love good coffee, street art, tiki bars and kitsch. Adore roller derby and quiffs and vintage Hawaiian shirts. Enjoy a slice of my northside life!

  1. Never in a million years would I have expected a re-emergence of knitting. I remember my grandmother and mother knitting bandage rolls and blankets for Vietnam veterans.

Pasadena: You’re one of many who have told me this! I met an older lady recently who spent many hours knitting for troops, veterans, AIDS orphans…and ended up hating it, as it was forever linked in her mind to bad things in the world. Since her grandkids showed her some yarnbombs and some of Olek’s work, she has begun again, and is feeling good about it. I love stories like this!
