mystery milk crates

Saw this yesterday off Drewery Lane, can anyone tell me what it’s for?

I like it, whatever it is…

I love good coffee, street art, tiki bars and kitsch. Adore roller derby and quiffs and vintage Hawaiian shirts. Enjoy a slice of my northside life!

  1. There was a similar exhibit (?) in a lane off Swanston Street between Strand Bags and the Duty Free store. While most of that has fallen apart now, the alleyway used to be strung with flowerpots hanging from wire and made from stacked pieces of flat cardboard with the middle cut out. There was also a large Styrofoam heart tacked to one of the walls. My first thought was a bum had renovated their digs – but no, it was art.

thisisnotanexit: I remember the cardboard flowerpots! Always wanted to photograph them, but never did.

Whoever has put this one together has gone to the trouble of using cable ties to secure the crates to each other. Must admit I am curious about the red deposit box, and if anything is inside…

  3. It’s pretty awesome but there’s a cafe out there without any seats.

  4. For acting our Mario Bros?

thisisnotanexit: yes, I did wonder where they came from…
