kasugai japanese gummy candy

How could I not buy these? Just look at the evocative text…

“Its translucent color so alluring and taste and aroma so gentle and mellow offer admiring feelings of a graceful lady. Enjoy soft and juicy Kasugai Muscat Gummy.”

“Every drop of fresh apple juice, carefully pressed from the reddest apples, shining in colors of the cheeks of a snow-country child, is yours to enjoy in each soft and juicy Kasugai Apple Gummy.”

The company mission statement?

“To pleasing woman and man in natural state of desire”

(well, that’s what their facebook page says, anyway…)

Kasugai makes much of the fact that they contain natural fruit juice. They are certainly the softest gummy candy I’ve eaten, and the apple actually tastes like red apple. Muscat grape, however, is just sweet. Sadly, on opening the packets, (each candy is individually wrapped) you get a real acetone/sharp smell. If you’d like some, they’re also available in peach, kiwi, pineapple, mango, melon and lychee! I got mine from MK Mini Mart, at 231 Swanston St, but any good asian grocer should have them…

About Vetti

I love good coffee, street art, tiki bars and kitsch. Adore roller derby and quiffs and vintage Hawaiian shirts. Enjoy a slice of my northside life!
