heirloom tomatoes

Look what we got from Joffa’s folks this weekend!

Thankfully, their vegie patch wasn’t damaged by the storms. Sadly, rain and humidity has affected commercial tomato growers, so expect less produce and higher prices at the market…

Varieties include Tigerella, Green Zebra, Mortgage Lifter and Tommy Toe. All grown from Diggers Club seeds.

    i’m growing tigerella this year.
they don’t have as much flavour as i’d hoped, but they look super cute!

  2. eroica: Just home from pals house – we threw a tray of whole tomatoes into the oven with some heads of purple garlic, roasted till done, then smeared on bread. Yummm!

  3. I grow heirlooms every year but also throw in the commercial variety for the numbers. Come visit. The post up before the tomato worm post shows the terraces where I grow them

  4. Pasadena: haven’t been to the USA yet, and have a few pals there. One day…love your tomato worm post!
