If you haven’t seen this amazing retrospective at the Ian Potter, do go. Tomorrow is the last day. If you’ve ever seen a rusted or weatherbeaten object, photographed it, or wanted to carry it home, this is THE SHOW POR VOU!

Click here for video, a snippet from the mind of a most down to earth and engaging artist. For moi, she is one of a few folks whose art practice and joie de vivre really resonates.

Her work is a fine balance of space, where found objects create a weathered, poetic landscape. There is a beautiful honesty to everything in this show, which is ultimately a peek into a life spent collecting, contemplating, and ultimately reflecting the energy of time, season, and place. It has been said that Rosalie Gascoigne bottles experience – to stand in front of her work is to revel in order and randomness, to be in a space where the artist’s presence is felt, but you are free to interpret for yourself.

About Vetti

I love good coffee, street art, tiki bars and kitsch. Adore roller derby and quiffs and vintage Hawaiian shirts. Enjoy a slice of my northside life!
