welcome to my weekend

Hey blog pals, come on in and make yourselves at home!

scan-249_small.jpg

I’m planning on a cruisy weekend – nothing more challenging than getting my hair done, drinking good coffee, and doing a little light housework. Bill Haley on the turntable, all the doors open, turquoise towels spinning in the machine – Sunday is a good place to be.

The pic above is not of my abode, I just love the entrance hall decorating tips that came with it:

– since you do not actually “live” in this space, you can be as gay as you wish, without tiring of the colour combinations
– a chair adds to comfort too – lets your guests put on rubbers or boots without stooping

Remember folks, your welcome starts just inside the front door – and so does the impression your home makes. Even the tiniest of entrance halls can sing with colour and pattern – think warm, bright, and welcoming…

Got a favourite decor tip or story? How do you add razzle dazzle to your home? Leave me a comment.

Til next time,

i had a kick arse entrance way at one of my flats back home. a couple of steps leading up to a wide and sheltered veranda, facing the morning sun, a perfect place for toast and coffee on a summery morning. orange and black vinyl seats of course. and inside: plants, a rainbow flag (with “pace” written on it.. from the anti war movement in italy a few years back), and a frog in a tank.
