a big pizza pie? that’s amore…

I wandered uphill to Thornbury tonight. Joffa and Stan graciously allowed me to dine with them at at Colosseum Pizza and Pasta Restaurant. Its some time since I’d been there, but am pleased to say that not much has changed. There’s still blue booth seating, soul on the stereo, AND fake bunches of grapes hanging from the pergola. The pizzas are tasty, with slices of fresh tomato, gorgeous salami, and beautiful cheese. The ham is Virginian, not your shredded stuff, and everything tastes fabulous. This neighbourhood has many pizza parlours, but this one is my favourite. We had the Godfather and the Colosseum, but I’d suggest making your own choices. Swing by, if you’re in High Street.

About Vetti

I love good coffee, street art, tiki bars and kitsch. Adore roller derby and quiffs and vintage Hawaiian shirts. Enjoy a slice of my northside life!

I hope to post more about pizza soon, especially the “not renovated since Gino opened in 1961” type places.
