This legend of Japanese sculpture has created a work of utter awesomeness – if you haven’t sauntered thru the Grollo-Equiset Garden (y’know, out the back of NGV International, via the Leonard French glass ceilinged Great Hall) to take a look, you really should. Larger in scale than any ikebana work I’ve ever seen, Five Elements – Water is constructed of many 7m lengths of bamboo. Photographs don’t do it justice, and on July 26, it will be dismantled.
