see-worthy

Sauntered thru a few shows today…a good thing too, as the wind down Smith Street was none too friendly!
Jessica Robertson’s In Perfect Worlds at Hogan Gallery: the darker side is acted out by a gang of dolls, posed to depict everyday dramas. Heartbreak? Cheatin? Revenge? Dreams of escape? All this and more – shot diorama style, with handmade props, daytime soap-opera wardrobes, and all the cool but cruel ‘tude you can handle. If you ever wondered what Barbie and her pals are really like – this show is a must see. Click here for the artist’s website, and a nifty slideshow…
Rhys Burnie at Collingwood Gallery:never look at hardwaste collection nite the same way again! Gorgeously rendered pics of bins, signage, weeds and all manner of stuff. Loved the use of graphite, and the subdued colours. Couldn’t help wondering about which alleyways and brickwalls are featured here, and whether the graf he depicts is his own, or a copy of something he’s seen. My favourite piece has already sold, I hope whoever bought #6 gives it a good home! Check out his site here.

Ooh, a poetry blog! COOL! Love the idea of magnetic poetry – very inspiring. Have to see if I can find it somewhere here in Canada.
I found you via a link on Wildschwein’s blog post about haiku. My blog isn’t specifically about poetry, but I just today launched a new Wednesday blog event:
If you have time, stop by “my place” and take part in my first ever “Silly Haiku Wednesday“!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Jenn: welcome aboard! you should be able to buy magnetic fridge poetry on the internet, if your local shops don’t have it…i miss team wildschwein, but respect their decision to stop blogging
my blog is about all manner of things, but you will see a fair bit of haiku and photography going on. will swing by your blog for a look round – might see you for silly haiku wednesday
